There are many things I cannot control in life. So many things. One thing that I can control, to some degree, is my desk.

I'm hoping to move my office in the first half of 2021, to a different room. I'm hoping to start fresh with some new work tables. I stopped doing the desk-with-drawers thing a few years ago. I think I like work tables better, but I admit I don't have as many years behind a work table as behind a desk. That's a sad thought, on a few levels...

I recently switched from a laptop, back to a desktop. It was a used deal, something to fit my needs, and I like it so far. I'm not sure about the space it takes though. Right now, it's on top of my work table. I'll probably have it on the floor after I move.

Over the past couple years, I've flip-flopped between one, two, or three monitors. Multi-monitor has benefits, but at the end of the day I think I like just having one. One per computer, that is. On the new work table, I'll have my main work computer, and a retro computer, each with their own keyboard and monitor.

I'd like to have one work table for non-computer work as well. A space to sit and write, solder, or whatever. We'll see if I can keep it clear of junk. Normally, that's tough for me.

I'd like to keep room for my vintage desktop calculator. I like using it more than I like using software.

It's a small thing, but I like that I can control what my desk/table looks like.
